Read Nehemiah 6
Think About It:
- Have you ever acted out of fear, following the advice of others around you (advice that was not from God)? What happened? What could you have done differently?
- Are you consistently listening to God’s voice, or do you have a tendency to stick to listening to others around you? If you struggle with this, share this with God and ask His help in correcting this in the future.
Family Time:
- Nehemiah had enemies who tried to harm him because of the work he was doing in rebuilding Jerusalem’s wall and gates. They tried to trick him but he was a man of great character and wisdom. He saw through their lies. He prayed for God to “strengthen his hands”. We also need to pray for our leaders, for God to strengthen them. (See 1 Timothy 2: 1 & 2) Take a moment now to pray for our Pastors, their families, and our other church leaders.
- Rebuilding the wall and gates of Jerusalem was a tremendous work! With God’s help and protection, how long did this rebuilding take? Our God is an Amazing and Awesome God!
