Read Acts 11
Think About It:
- Peter explains his vision in detail showing that God has accepted the Gentiles as equals, therefore they must too. If you have accepted Christ as Savior, you are equal with all others in God’s kingdom. Ask God to reveal any prejudices you may have toward other denominations, races, etc.
- God used persecution to spread the gospel. James 1:2 says to “consider it pure joy…whenever you face trials of many kinds.” There are specific reasons for trials in our lives, to “produce perseverance” (James 1:3) and to spread the gospel are two of them. Know that God has good purposes in your trials, and He will bring you through them.
Family Time:
- What was the initial response from the brethren when they heard that Cornelius’s house was saved, and that Peter went to them? Did they initially rejoice at the salvation of another?
- After hearing Peter give account of what God showed him, what does he ask? How do the brethren respond now?
- Where were the disciples first called Christians?
- How did God use Agabus?
