Read II John
Think About It:
- What does John call those who do not confess Jesus Christ? John says we are to be alert and watching so we are not deceived by them.
- Why do you think John repeats himself in verse 6? He also says in the gospel of John 13:35, “By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” How does this further explain verse 6?
Family Time:
- In verse 7, many what have gone into the world? What do they say? God says anyone who does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is a deceiver and an antichrist. John warns us to pay attention and be careful!
- Those who do not stay in line with the truth of who Christ is and what He taught, are not of God. Those who do stay in line with the truth of who Jesus is and what He taught ARE of God. Verse 10 says that if anyone comes to you and says something that is different from God’s truth, do not receive him into your house or greet him. That seems serious, and maybe even hard to do. Why do you think he said this? Verse 11: “He who greets him ____ __ ___ ____ _____”. Allowing someone who teaches false things into your life is very dangerous.
- We live in a very deceptive time. Guard your heart! Check with your mom and dad or a spiritual leader on the things you listen to, and most importantly, listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit. If you are listening, He will let you know what is true and false. Run toward Jesus…we’re almost home! May the Lord bless you and keep you!
