Overview of the Book of Hebrews

Read Hebrews 1
Think About It:
- Christ, as King, is seated at the right hand of God. Who is Christ better than and why?
- What was never said to the angels but to Christ only?
- Be encouraged by verse 14. Who are the angels to care for? What is the “qualification” for their care?
Family Time:
- Is the idea of an angel physically appearing and delivering a message to you more (exciting/marvelous/amazing) than knowing that Jesus (a Person of the God head) humbled Himself, emptied Himself, showed up physically as a human man, and then spoke, lived, and demonstrated the ULTIMATE MESSAGE? Really ask yourself this.
- Why do you think the writer of Hebrews needed to establish the right mindset that Jesus is exalted/magnified above all other “angelic activity?”
- In verses 8 and 10, what “names” does God call Jesus?
- In verse 9, God says that Jesus “loved righteousness and hated lawlessness”. How did Jesus demonstrate this?
