Read Ephesians 3
Think About It:
- Paul identifies the manner in which he preaches the Gospel to others in verses 8 and 9. What is the character trait that Paul holds? How can we keep this character trait?
- What is the great mystery that Paul speaks of? When was the mystery revealed by God?
- What is the purpose of the great mystery? (verses 10-12)
- What is your role in this great mystery?
Family Time:
**. Do you know what the word “heir” means? An heir is someone who receives something from someone who went before them. For example, my grandpa had a special teddy bear. When he died, I received that teddy bear because I was his heir. Now it is my special teddy bear. One day I will pass it on to one of my heirs. An heir receives from someone who went before, but also continues to pass on something. As an heir to Christ, we receive what Jesus did for us when He died – our salvation. Then we live as saved and continue to pass that message on to our heirs.
- In verse 6, who should also be heirs to Christ along with the Jews?
- Paul had been in prison a few times for teaching about Jesus. In verse 13 he tells the reader “do not lose heart at my tribulations (hard times)”. What does lose heart mean? Why might someone lose heart seeing Paul go to prison? How does it make you feel knowing that Christians may go to prison for teaching about Jesus?
