Read Matthew 11
Think About It:
- In verses 16-19, Jesus rebuked those that refused to hear God’s voice in either form, the somber or the joyful, in judgment or in mercy. There was no pleasing them. What does God think of complainers? Do you find yourself complaining often?
- In verses 20-24, who did Jesus condemn? Why? Who did Jesus accept? Why?
- What awaits those that accept the message of Jesus? (verses 28-30)
Family Time:
- What was the message that Jesus sent back to John the Baptist to reassure and comfort him that He, Jesus, was the Messiah?
- What did Jesus say about John the Baptist?
- How did John the Baptist prepare the way for Jesus?
- Who is greater than John the Baptist?
- How do we enter the kingdom of heaven? – With HUMBLENESS and TEACHABILITY, as a child (see Matthew 18:3-4).
- Speak this invitation from Jesus out loud (Matthew 11:28-30), “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Read and speak it in several translations.
