Read Hosea 7
Think About It:
In the chapter, look for all the “I’s” (God) and what He would have done for or to Israel. Then for all the “they’s” and what they did. There are 55 sins listed in this chapter. Amidst all the sins and strife, Israel still ignores God.
- God wanted to heal Israel. What kept Him from doing it?
- Where did their trust lie? What was the result of their sin?
Family Time:
- In verses 1 and 2, God knows and sees everything. Like Israel, we often forget that. Have you ever said no one will ever know, or no one is watching? When faced with the temptation to sin, remember God sees everything.
- When we spend lots of time with unbelievers, like at work, school, or play, we can start imitating their behavior. Instead of drifting into bad habits, see if you can have a positive influence and point them to Jesus. (verse 8)
