Read Proverbs 8
Think About It:
- Wisdom calls to us to follow it in verses 1-9.
- Wisdom from God is the greatest treasure you can seek. More valuable than any earthly wealth. (verses 10-21)
- Wisdom is God’s way. Always has been before the beginning of time and always will be. (verses 22-31)
- God’s wisdom is available to us. (verses 32-36) James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
- Do you desire this precious wisdom from God? Ask Him for it and he will give liberally. It is a treasure worth asking for.
Family Time:
- The entire chapter is about the importance of knowing God’s wisdom. However, we also know we need the Holy Spirit to know the wisdom of God.
- READ 1 CORINTHIANS 2:6-16. God’s wisdom is revealed only by his Holy Spirit.
- If you are a believer of Jesus, the Holy Spirit came and lived in you the moment you were saved (you possess the Holy Spirit).
- If you haven’t been baptized in the Holy Spirit (where the Holy Spirit possesses you), ask God to baptize you. We all need a fresh filling either for the first time or from time to time!
