Read Lamentations 4
Think About It:
- Jeremiah again stated his understanding that the destruction of Judah and Jerusalem was due to the iniquity of God’s people, more specifically the spiritual leaders. How was their sin greater than the sin of Sodom? How was their judgment different?
- What kind of picture does Jeremiah paint of the judgment that befell Judah and Jerusalem? Have you seen anything like this?
Family Time:
In Jeremiah, we read many warnings of all the bad things God would do if His people continued to disobey. He kept His Word then and He will keep His Word now. It is important to remember that God is real. These people were real. These horrible things DID happen. It’s easy to ignore God’s commands if we forget how real the Bible is. Ask God to help you always remember how true and real His Word is. It’s not just a book of stories.
