Read Jeremiah 24
Think About It:
God used common things (two baskets of figs) to illustrate what would happen to Judah.
- What did the good figs represent?
- What did the bad figs represent?
- When we look at what is going on around us and in our individual lives, we cannot see as God sees. The people represented by the good figs were actually being saved by being removed from Judah. I’m sure it did not look or feel that way at the time. God promises to take care of us, His people, during the bad times as well as the good. God keeps His promises.
Family Time:
- When was Jeremiah shown the two baskets of figs? (verse 1)
- To what were the good figs likened? (verses 5-7)
- To what were the evil figs likened? (verses 8-10)
