Read Isaiah 24
Think About It:
This chapter is an overview of God’s purpose in judgment and the first 13 verses tell of the devastation caused by sin in the world and its effect on every person and even the land. Disobedience is defying our Divine Design! Just like a snowmobile is not designed to tread water, we cannot successfully live disobeying the Word of God. We cannot think we will get away with sin. We must repent individually, nationally and globally to slow the deterioration of society. We can make a difference by our prayers and acts of obedience to God’s Word. God’s ultimate purpose is always to redeem those who follow Him, so verses 14-16 (“the song of the remnant”) portray how we are to live: focused on Him first, above all else (Matt 6:33-34) and singing for joy for His justice, His majesty and His glory. Hold on to God’s promises for the future and sing praise to Him for His power to restore all things.
- Think of three promises you can hold on to right now, in the midst of today’s struggles all around. Then think of a song that you can sing to God to thank Him for His faithfulness to you.
Family Time:
Memory Verse: Luke 21:36
- Our society has embraced sin. It is wrong to be drunk, to have filthy language, to use God’s name lightly, to lie, manipulate, and steal. Sex outside of marriage and same sex relationships are forbidden by God. Do you have a sin that you have tried to hide? Even if it is what some would call a “little” sin, it grieves God.
- Confess your sins to God and he is faithful and just to forgive you. (1 John 1:9)
- There is a time coming on the earth very soon called the tribulation. The beautiful thing is if you are living for Christ, you will escape!
