Read 1 Chronicles 13
Think About It:
- Why does David want to bring the Ark back to Israel?
- Who did he consult concerning this idea of bringing the Ark to Israel?
- Why do you suppose God dealt with Uzza the way He did?
Family Time:
Deuteronomy 17:18-20: “When he (the king) takes the throne of his kingdom, he is to write for himself on a scroll a copy of this law taken from that of Levitical priests. It is to be with him, and he is to read it all the days of his life so that he may learn to revere the LORD his God and follow carefully all the words of this law and these decrees.”
Numbers 3: 31: “They (Kohath, son of Levi, and his clans) were responsible for the care of the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, the articles of the sanctuary used in ministering, the curtain, and everything related to their use.”
- David was very eager to bring the Ark of the LORD to himself, back to the Israelites. He was SO eager that he and all Israel went to get it themselves… without asking God! According to Numbers 3:31, who was responsible for anything to do with the Ark?
- David and all the Israelites were celebrating along the way as they were bringing the Ark of the LORD. What happened when the oxen who were pulling the Ark of the LORD stumbled?
- Do you remember to ask of God before you make decisions?
