Read 1 Kings 4
Think About It:
- 2 Timothy 3:16 tells us that “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”. What can we learn from the list of Solomon’s administration? How does it show us the wisdom of Solomon?
- God gave Solomon great wisdom. Scripture tells us in James 1:5 (NIV) “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”Since God offers us wisdom so freely, we should ask for it and accept His offer. Did you realize that you had such access to wisdom? Have you asked God to give you wisdom?
Family Time:
- Did people like Solomon and seek his wisdom?
- Did Solomon only have wisdom as a leader or did the Lord give him wisdom about other things too? (verse 33)
- Solomon wrote many proverbs. Look in the book of Proverbs. Pick out a verse you really like or use Proverbs 1:7. Now do something fun with it – draw a picture, make it into a song, memorize it while flossing (not your teeth). Be creative!
