Read Genesis 16
Think About It:
- Why didn’t Abram stand up and say to Sarai, when she offered her maidservant to him, “God has promised, He will give us a child—so stop worrying?”
- Either Abram thought he would help God out or he was so focused on what he and his wife wanted, that he thought this was the quickest and easiest solution. What can we learn from this experience?
Family Time:
Read Genesis, chapter 16 together as a family. Then work on the memory verse and discuss and answer the following questions.
Memory Verse: Genesis 16:5 – older and younger children
Sarai had a hard time believing in the promises of God to herself and Abram. So, she decided to take matters into her own hands and do things her own way.
- How did Sarai’s lack of faith in God cause problems for her, Hagar and Abram?
- Have you ever had a hard time waiting for God to do as He has promised for you? When and what happened?
