Read Isaiah 6
Think About It:
- Isaiah knew king Uzziah well and was probably related to him. King Uzziah died a leper (2 Chronicles 26:23) because of his sin in the temple. Do you think the judgement of the LORD on Uzziah affected Isaiah when he saw the LORD in the heavenly temple?
- What is the only way we can be comfortable (at peace) in the presence of the LORD? What were the seraphim (seraphim means burning ones) focused on? What was Isaiah focused on (what was uppermost in his mind)? As soon as his sin and guilt were taken away, he could hear the heart of God and then he was quick to accept God’s commission for him.
Family Time:
- What did God tell Isaiah to do in verses 9-10?
- How long was Isaiah to do this?
*There is a song by Todd Agnew called ‘Holy, Holy, Holy’. The lyrics are the words from Isaiah 6. Have someone help you look it up on YouTube.
