Read Song of Solomon 5
Think About It:
- In verses 2 & 3, the bridegroom (Jesus) knocks at the door of his beloved (the church/you), but she has already made preparations for sleep and it would be an inconvenience to get up and open the door to her love. Has the LORD ever knocked at the door of your heart to get your attention at the most inopportune time? How did you respond?
- In verses 10-16, the beloved realizes that her love for the bridegroom is genuine, (maybe she realized that she had taken his love for granted) as she describes him to the other women with such fondness. Do you tell others of the love that your LORD has bestowed upon you? What character traits do you highlight in the LORD (e.g., kind, never failing love, patient, forgiving, etc.).
Family Time:
- The woman calls her love a friend in verse 16. Have you found a friend in Jesus? Discuss what that might look like.
