Read Proverbs 10
Think About It:
Chapter 10 starts the Proverbs of King Solomon. The entire book of Proverbs is a guide to attaining wisdom, but here and there Solomon points out several important characteristics of the wise man and woman. Many proverbs in chapter 10 focus on the words that come out of our mouth. “There is life and death in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21), and Solomon gives several illustrations of just that. Watch your words. Use your tongue to bring life! Think before you speak. I saw this and thought if fit for the things Solomon is trying to teach us in the Book of Proverbs. All of his Proverbs fit the criteria below!
T – Is it True?
H – Is it helpful?
I – Is it inspiring?
N – Is it necessary?
K – Is it kind?
We need to THINK before we speak!
Family Time:
- Every day we have opportunity to grow, serve, and be productive. Yet, it is so easy to waste time. See time as God’s gift and seize your opportunities to live whole-hearted for God.
- Words from a good person are valuable. Think about the people you go to for advice.
- Hatred stirs up strife, but what covers all sin?
