Read Psalm 134-135
Think About It:
Psalm 134
- As the worshippers ascended the hill to the temple of God, they would see the night watchmen guarding the temple. They saw the watchmen doing their jobs as worship before God. As we do our work for the church, no matter what it may be, do you do it as worship to God? What about your daily work at home and in the workplace?
Psalm 135
- Just like Israel was chosen by God, so are we. All the reasons to praise God mentioned in this Psalm are also true for us. We are chosen and we are His special treasure. (verse 4) He is the same today as He was then. Think about the times in your life when God has rescued you. Tell what He has done for you.
- Do we become like whatever we worship? (verses 15-18) Make sure it is our great God we are becoming more like and not useless idols. What things in your life have the potential of becoming idols?
Family Time:
Psalm 134
- What should you do in the sanctuary? (verse 2)
Psalm 135
- What two things are emphasized in this psalm that we should do to the LORD? (verses 1-3, 19-21)
- What cannot speak, see or hear? (verses 15-17)
