Read Deuteronomy 12
Think About It:
- God is clearly very specific about where to make offerings to Him as it was easy to do things like the rest of the world. How do you go out of your way to make sure everything is done the way God wants, not just following the example of others around you?
- Have you ever taken on any traditions or language or anything else that contradicts God’s nature, or something that God wouldn’t approve of? This could be from family, friends, co-workers, etc. Sometimes we do things because “that’s how we’ve always done it,” or to fit in with others. Ask God to reveal anything that should change and follow through with those changes.
Family Time:
- Why does Moses tell the Israelites to destroy the alters in the land they will by taking?
- Why does he warn them not to ask how the people worshiped their gods?
