Read Deuteronomy 9
Think About It:
- In Deuteronomy 9:3-6 Moses tells Israel three times that it isn’t because of their righteousness or the uprightness of their heart that God is driving their enemies out before them and giving them the land. It was because of the wickedness of those nations that the Lord was driving them out. When have you believed that God has blessed you because of your righteousness or your service to Him?
- How do you respond in the face of difficulties or challenges that you don’t feel you can handle on your own?
- Unbelief in God’s power and ability to do what He said He would do was the root of much of Israel’s rebellion and sin. How has your unbelief caused problems in your life?
Family Time:
- What are the two reasons God is going to deliver the land to Israel? (Verses 4-6)
- What things have the Israelites done in past chapters that leads God to call them a “stiff-necked” people.
- Have you ever been “stiff-necked”? When? What happened?
