Read Exodus 33
Think About It:
- What had taken place just before the Lord told Moses to resume the journey to Canaan? Why did He tell Moses to lead “the people he brought up from the land of Egypt” and not Himself? What did the people stop doing after Moses told them what the Lord said?
- Moses set up his tent outside the camp and called it the tabernacle of meeting. What happened when Moses entered it? What was he doing for “this people?” What did he ask of the Lord and why?
Family Time:
Read Exodus chapter 33 together as a family. Then work on your memory verse and discuss the following questions.
Memory Verses:
Older Children: Exodus 33:18-20
Younger Children: Exodus 33:18
Moses asks God to let him see His glory. God allows Moses to only see His back.
- Find the scripture that says why Moses cannot see God’s actual face. Discuss what the scripture says.
- What do you think it would be like to actually see God with your physical eyes? He can see into our hearts and minds. How can we make sure that we are worthy and clean from sin in His sight? Pray about this with your family
