Read II Thessalonians 3
Think About It:
Finally, Paul asks the brethren to pray for them that the Word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified. Unfortunately we will always be faced with people who oppose Christ. We must always lift up our pastors to help guard them from evil, unfaithful people who want to destroy the church. We are also to stay true to the Word, do not stray, allowing Holy Spirit to direct our hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. Jesus will guard you from the evil one.
It is the harsh reality that Paul has to put in writing that some people we really do need to avoid. Not all people live according to the Word. They gossip, are disorderly and do not work for Christ. “Do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed.”
Paul also reminds us of not getting tired of doing good. We are working for Christ! (Not for ourselves.) Stay active in your service, and if you are not active in the church, start. The Lord will always use your talents!
Family Time:
- What was Paul’s command in verse 10?
- What is a busybody? ( Someone who is bustling about uselessly, or being busy with needless and useless matters…also one who meddles in other people’s business.)
- What is the instruction in verse 12 to these types of people?
- Verse 13 says, “ Do not grow weary while doing ____”. Do you ever get tired of doing good? Helping around home? Doing what is right? Listening to your parents? Keep going, and know that the Lord sees you and will reward you. Pray and ask the Lord to show you what kinds of things He would like you to use your time for! Time is a very special gift, and from these verses, we can see that it is important how we spend it! Let the Lord lead you, and may His peace fill you always in every way!
