Read Galatians 2
Think About It:
- This chapter talks about how Paul held himself accountable. Why was this important? Is this still important today? Why?
- Just as people then were trying to make circumcision a prerequisite for salvation, we often try to get people to look or act a certain way before they accept Jesus. Jesus loves each of us right where we are. Let Him change us after we accept Him and mold us into what He sees we can be. What are some ways you tend to think others need to change to look more like a “Christian?” Ask God to help us accept others as they are just as Jesus does.
Family Time:
- God had sent Paul to mostly preach to whom?
- God had sent Peter to mostly preach to whom?
- Hypocrisy means behaving in a way that is different than what you claim to believe. Why was Peter behaving with hypocrisy? Have you ever struggled with hypocrisy? If so, ask Jesus to forgive you and the Holy Spirit to help you live boldly according to His Word.
- Hypocrisy is a sin for anyone in their Christian walk, but the impact of that sin can be much greater when a leader has hypocrisy. Take time to pray for those in leadership (and anyone people listen to: Our Nation, State, City, Church, Schools, Media, Parents, Friends, and ourselves).
- Memorize verse 16.
- According to verse 18, what do we become if we try to go back and re-construct the old law system in Moses’ day?
