Read Romans 5
Think About It:
The book of Romans is one of my favorite books of the Bible, especially chapters 5-8. It helps us with the logic of our salvation, from God’s point of view. Isaiah 1:18 says:
“Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool.”
Only two men were perfect when they began their life, and both were called Adam. Both were the firstborn of a creation, the fountainhead of their generation. One lost his perfection, the other kept His. See 1 Corinthians 15:45.
There is no way for us to get back into God’s good graces by ourselves. His way is through Christ, the second Adam. He is the free gift of God.
The lives of these two men have affected the whole world and everyone in it for all time, including you and me! See verses 17-19.
Romans 6-8 are even better as they reveal even more detail about what God did for us through Christ! It reveals who God says we are in Christ.
Family Time:
- What does tribulation produce? (verse 3)
- When did Christ die for us? (verse 8)
- Whereas sin reigned in death, to what will grace reign? (verse 21)
