Read Acts 23
Think About It:
This chapter is a perfect example of how God will work with us when we are obedient to Him. Even when we are falsely accused, God works through the entire situation to accomplish His purposes. Paul was smart enough to use the strategy of dividing his accusers (Pharisees and Sadducees) so he could be removed from the vicious crowd. Afterward, God comforted Paul and revealed that he would be sent to Rome to witness for Christ in the city. God protected Paul from an assassination plot and got him safely to Rome. That is why we are commanded to never fear. When we obey God’s Word, He is faithful to bring us into His will safely. Nobody can harm us when we are in God’s hands. Surrender any worries or fears you have right now. Write them down if you have to and then burn the paper as you give them over to God. He has a plan, He sees what you are going through, He has a solution to your every problem, and He is just waiting for you to put your trust in Him. Commit it all to Him and then leave it in His hands.
Family Time:
- Who saved Paul from the angry Pharisees and Sadducees? (verse 10)
- Who saved Paul from the plot to murder him? (verses 22-30)
- Do you think Paul thought these Romans would come to his rescue? Keep in mind that God will use all kinds of people and situations to protect those that follow Him.
