Read John 20
Think About It:
Probably the most exciting chapter in the entire Bible – Jesus has risen from the dead! The stone was not rolled away from the tomb so Jesus could get out, but so others could see in! He helps us to see what He is doing, to help us understand. The words Jesus gives us are not always understood at the time He speaks them to us, but as we can see in this chapter, will help us understand what He meant as the picture comes together in time. He always knows ahead of time what is going to happen because He stands outside of time. So, we need to “catch up” with Him sometimes. Verses 15-16 give such an awesome example of the importance of our continual relationship with Him, so we know His voice when He speaks to us. Verse 29 says, “blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” That’s us! And that is why we do not walk by sight, but by faith. Take time with Jesus right now and share any areas in your heart that you find difficult to believe or walk by faith and tend to trust your eyes sometimes. He will help you trust Him more when you share those things with Him.
Family Time:
- What happened after Jesus came back to life?
- What did His disciples and other people around believe?
- What does it mean to receive the Holy Spirit?
- Thank God for the resurrection of Jesus. Thank Him for loving us and ask for help in sharing that love with others.
