Read Luke 8
Think About It:
- In verses 4-15, which soil best describes you as you hear God’s Word? Ask God to make you like the good soil, renewing your mind (Romans 12:2) and making you fruitful.
- How did Jesus redefine who was part of His family? (verses 19-21) How reassuring is this to you as a follower of Christ?
- Jesus calmed storms, cast out demons, and healed. He is still doing these things today and uses us to accomplish them. Ask God to use you to accomplish His will every day.
Family Time:
- Who were the three women who helped support Jesus?
- Every time you read the Word of God seed is being placed in your heart. Re-read Luke 8:11-15. Is your heart good ground for the seed? If not, what can you do to prepare it?
- Why do we have to be careful of “how we hear”? Let the light of God’s truth be seen in you. Since Jesus is now on the throne in heaven, the only “light” in this world is that light Jesus has placed inside of His own people. As long as we are here shining His light, no place we are can ever be completely dark.
- Do you obey Jesus as well as the winds and waves do?
