Read Hosea 3-4
Think About It:
Chapter 3
- God commanded Hosea to go back to his still-unfaithful wife, not only for the sake of Hosea and his wife Gomer, but also so that they would become a living lesson of the LORD’s relationship with His people. They were still steeped in spiritual adultery, yet the LORDstill loved them. What does this say about the Love of God?
- What is the consequence for Gomer’s sin? What is the consequence for Israel’s sin? Restoration will happen when they turn back to the LORD.
Chapter 4
- What were God’s charges against Israel? Notice anything familiar?
- Verse 5 states, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge? What knowledge are the people lacking? Why?
Family Time:
- Reread and meditate on Hosea 3:5. Praise God! Ask God to give you a Godly Fear of the LORD and to overwhelm you with His goodness.
- In Chapter 4, we are back into what would have been the current reality and heart condition of the people. Fill in the charges God has against His people below:
- (Hosea 4:1b) There is no__________or ___________ or ___________ of God in the land.
- (Hosea 4:2) By _______ and _______, ________ and ______ committing ________, they break all restraint, with ____________ upon_____________.
- (Hosea 4:6a) My people are destroyed for lack of _____________.
- (Hosea 4:10b) Because they have ceased_____________ the LORD.
- Hearing these charges, how should you live?
