Read Daniel 11
Think About It:
- This chapter contains one of the most specifically fulfilled prophecies of the Bible, predicting history over some 375 years, and to the end, with amazing accuracy. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 tells us: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” In light of this, what do you think God wants us to learn from Daniel 11?
- God’s messenger described a time of great trial when even wise believers may stumble. This could mean falling into sin, being fearful and losing faith, mistakenly following wrong teachings, and/or experiencing severe suffering and martyrdom. What do we need to do in order to get through times of great trials?
Family Time:
- Daniel 11 contains prophecy for a time in the future from Daniel’s time. However, relative to our time, it is a mixture of prophecies that have been fulfilled in history and for the future appointed “end time”.
- What are some of the descriptions of evil leadership described in this chapter?
- Stirring up strife
- Acting deceitfully
- Hearts bent on evil
- Speak lies
- All of the above
- The phrase ‘appointed time’ is used in the book of Daniel. What is the definition of ‘appointed’? Do you think God’s people can change God’s appointed time? What should you do to ALWAYS be ready?
