Read Ezekiel 43
Think About It:
- Many years before in a vision Ezekiel saw the Glory of the LORD depart from the temple, and He left through the east gate (Ezekiel 11:23). In verse 4, Ezekiel sees the Glory of the LORD enter the temple through the east gate. Since this is mentioned, it must be significant. What would be significant about this?
- What was Ezekiel’s response when he saw the Glory of the LORD and the LORD spoke to him? What do you think your response might be?
- In verses 6-9, what does God tell Ezekiel about His dwelling place? “This passage reminds us that people who frequent ‘holy places’ ought to be ‘holy people.’ The Jewish remnant that returned to their land to rebuild the temple would need to take this message to heart, and we need to take it to heart today” (Warren Wiersbe).
Family Time:
- Like what was the voice of the God of Israel? (verse 2)
- Of what was the house of Israel to be ashamed? (verse 10)
