Read Lamentations 2
Think About It:
- It was interesting to me that Jeremiah wrote this at “Jeremiah’s Grotto.” It is just outside the north gate of Jerusalem.
- Today it is called Golgotha. Can you make analogies of the destruction here in Jerusalem to the cross of Christ?
- How often do you cry because of sorrow over sin?
Family Time:
- A church building may be beautiful, but if its people don’t sincerely follow God, the church will decay from within. The people of Judah had turned their worship into saying words they didn’t really mean, praying for help they didn’t really believe would come, expressing love for God they didn’t really have. Seek God and catch a fresh vision of His love and care. Then worship Him wholeheartedly with all you have.
