Read Jeremiah 35
Think About It:
- Why did God have Jeremiah go and speak to the Rechabites and bring them into the House of the Lord? What was the purpose of offering the Rechabites wine to drink?
- What are the differences between the Rechabites and the men of Judah and Jerusalem?
- What was the result of these differences?
Family Time:
- Can you list all the rules the Rechabites had to follow in verses 6-10?
- God used the Rechabites as an example of obedience to the men of Judah in Jerusalem. What was to happen to the men of Judah because they did not obey? (verse 17)
- What reward did the Rechabites receive for their obedience? (verse 19)
- Use the Rechabites as an example for yourself! If they could follow all those rules, surely you can too!
