Read Jeremiah 8
Think About It:
Chapter 8 begins with God, through Jeremiah, declaring judgment on Israel for their sin. (Specifically the ones mentioned at the end of chapter 7.) God’s judgment is described throughout this chapter.
- In verse 8, why do the people think they are wise and following the law of God?
- God’s words and ways are being misrepresented by the spiritual leaders. In verse 8, scribes are writing falsely; in verse 9, wise men have rejected God’s Word; in verse 10, “from the prophet even to the priest everyone deals falsely.” How does this compare to today’s world? What does it compel us to do in our own lives, so we know what is truth and what is lies?

- The tribe of Dan was where in Israel (a little history)? You are right! The northern most part.
- Do we have the passion like Jeremiah for His people? Ask God to break our hearts for the lost world God loves.
