Read Isaiah 48
Think About It:
- While the Israelites were outwardly following God, they were not calling on Him “in truth or in righteousness.” (verse 1) What are your motives in attending church or serving God? Ask God to search your heart. Read Psalm 139:23-24 as a prayer.
- What did the Israelites do when God rescued them from captivity? (verse 20) We’ve all been rescued by God from something. How can you proclaim what He has done in your life?
Family Time:
- The people of Israel didn’t always make the right choices and follow God. Even still, God says he will not be mad at them. He will refine them. Refine means to take away all the bad stuff, in this case, make them holy. Why does God do this? (verses 9-11)
- Who does God say He is in verse 12? As a family discuss what this means.
