Read Isaiah 37
Think About It:
- In a time of great distress, what did King Hezekiah do?
- How did the LORD respond to King Hezekiah?
- In reading verses 21-29, does this give you hope that the LORD has all things in His sight and authority…even in our world today?
Family Time:
See also 2 Kings 19:1-37 & 2 Chronicles 32:9-23.
- King Hezekiah responds to the enemy’s threats wisely. He humbles himself and seeks the LORD (by way of the prophet Isaiah). What is God’s first response? (To comfort his people.) DO NOT BE AFRAID. (Remember: GOD IS LOVE. PERFECT LOVE CASTS OUT ALL FEAR.)
- After another threat by the enemy, King Hezekiah goes to the LORD himself praising Him, trusting Him, and seeking help. God responds using His prophet, Isaiah. Read verse 23 – God’s words for the enemy. When the enemy attacks God’s people, God sees it as an attack against Himself. What does that say of who you are to Him?
- Read verses 36-38. Does God do to the enemy what He said He would do?
