Read Isaiah 9
Think About It:
The chapter begins on a high note with the promise of the Messiah: Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace and why we need Him.
- Pride and self-sufficiency lead God’s people into captivity. What sins can take you captive?
- It seemed no amount of correction could turn the people back to God. Can you imagine God’s fist poised to strike? Yet, His plan for their return was already in place.

- What would those who walked in darkness see? (verse 2)
- What would the child born unto them be called? (verse 6)
