Read Ecclesiastes 7
Think About It:
- Verse 1 says that the day of death is better than the day of birth. Paul agrees in the New Testament when he says, “to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Have you ever considered that death is a blessing from God? In what ways is this true?
- Verse 5 says, “It is better for a man to hear the rebuke of the wise than to hear the song of fools.” Do you speak hard truths to those you love or do you only tell them what you think they want to hear? Alternatively, do you receive criticism well or do you get offended quickly?
- Verse 14 says that God has made both prosperity and adversity. How might that change your attitude toward adversity if you lived like that was true?
Family Time:
- In what areas of your life do you need to grow in wisdom right now?
- What can you do, and who can you ask to obtain that wisdom?
- Do the people in your life that speak into your decisions fit more in the category of wise or foolish?
