Read Proverbs 30
Think About It:
- How should we treat the different people we encounter? Give specific examples from the scripture.
- What four animals or insects demonstrate great wisdom? How does each do so? What can we learn?
Family Time:
Focus: Proverbs 30:11-14, and 17
- Agur wrote about a generation plagued by social ills such as a lack of respect for parents and authority, greed, laziness, and selfishness, etc.
- Verse 17 gives a curse. The lack of parental respect spoken of in verse 11 leads to this curse! The language is strong and violent as is the punishment of one who abuses his or her parents.
- Read verse 17 again! This is serious in the Lord’s eyes.
- The Lord sees your actions! Children, it is your job to respect authority, especially your parents. Parents, it is your job to treat your children with love and care and provide them with correct and loving discipline.
