Read Proverbs 13
Think About It:
- Even among Christians there is a tendency to weigh scripture’s value by certain situations. Scripture is God and His very Word. Just because we lack understanding, does not lessen or void it in any given situation. It is always true. Are there areas in your life (lives) where you have believed that some portion of God’s Word does not apply (i.e. discipling of children, being 100% honest, gossip, etc.)?
Family Time:
- Verse 3 says, “Our tongue is a small part of the body, but can do a lot of damage to ourselves and others. How many kind words can you say today?
- In verse 13, what does the WORD refer to? The Bible is God’s unfailing words to us. It is our owner’s manual. Plug in to the Holy Spirit and follow the owner’s manual. It will keep us running smoothly with the kind of power to live our lives for His glory.
- When we are disciplined, whether it be by God or our parents, it shows how much they love us and care for us. How do you handle discipline?
