Read Psalm 125-127
Think About It:
- In chapter 125, do the mountains around Jerusalem keep it from trials, or rather, the fact that the Lord is around us, will that protect us from trials?
- In chapter 126, to what can the “seed’ be referring to besides just seed? Are you planting seeds with tears?
- Testimony blip: As I was preparing chapter 127, I received a phone call from Stephen, my son. You cannot imagine the blessings that come from leaning on the Lord to raise your children! Stephen took an incredible amount of energy as a child – discipline, etc. Today, He loves the Lord and wants to serve Him however He leads. Take hope Dads and Moms, pursue God heartily!
Family Time:
- Psalm 125: What happens to those who turn aside to their crooked ways? What does crooked ways mean?
- Psalm 126: The King James Version says, ‘turn again our captivity’ instead of ‘bring back our captivity’ in verses 1 and 4. This means to turn it around. Turn captivity into freedom.
- Psalm 127: Does God value children? What does He call them? (verse 3) Remember this verse. You are so valuable to the Lord. He says you are a reward.
PARENTS: A warrior does no good with dull arrows in his hand or quiver. (verses 4-5) Are you raising up sharp arrows for the Lord? Are you raising your children as if they are a reward?
