Read Psalm 21
Think About It:
- How do you feel when God answers your prayers? How do you express your feelings to God?
- What are the reasons for the King’s joy?
- What does this Psalm say about Jesus, the Messiah?
Family Time:
Look over verses 8-12 with an adult. These statements sound pretty harsh – devoured by fire, shooting arrows at people’s faces! Yikes!! In those days there was a lot of war. God was also very present and came to destroy the enemies of His people – sometimes with fire! God’s people always knew they could find victory in Him. He had their back. God will defend us against our enemies today just like He did for the Israelites. It doesn’t look the same though. We don’t literally destroy people – and you should never shoot arrows at someone! Read these verses and discuss how these things would or could take place in our world today. How does God have our back today?
