Read Job 20
Think About It:
It’s hard to tell if Zophar is describing the inner life of Job as an evil man or venting some stored-up anger in his own heart.
- When you find yourself in a position to counsel others, are you careful that your words reflect God’s wisdom and not your own personal thinking?
Family Time:
- Zophar suggested that Job was getting what he deserved for being wicked. Why do you think Job’s ‘friends’ thought he deserved what was happening to him?
- Why couldn’t Job’s ‘friends’ see that Job was a righteous man that was innocent before God?
- It is important to remember that we don’t always know the will of God. We need to be careful not to speak falsely.
