Read Job 17
Think About It:
- When going through a difficult time, will everyone be understanding? (Verses 2-6)
- What does it mean to have a broken spirit?
- What are some of Job’s thoughts as a result of his tragedies? (Verses 11, 15, etc.)
Family Time:
Memory Verse: Job 19:25
- Job’s friends became his enemies (verse 2), they gave him a bad reputation (verse 6) and they did not provide wise counsel (verse 10) (say correct things).
- Who did Job put his hope in? (Verses 9, 15)
- What did Job say happens to those who stand firm in Christ and maintain good character? (Verse 9)
- FAMILY DISCUSSION: Think about someone who is going through something difficult. Talk about how they might feel. Have you ever had a hard time and you felt like no one cared (a pet died, a sick friend or family member, etc.)? Do you think you have ever treated someone’s feelings carelessly? Sometimes we are careless because we don’t understand or because we are too busy with our own lives. Pray for God to give you wisdom and compassion.
