Read Esther 10
Think About It:
- Mordecai played a significant role in saving the king, bringing up Esther, and saving the Jews. He will be remembered forever. What will your legacy be? Can you see the gifts God has given you being used for His purposes? If everything you do is for His glory, and not your own, He will make sure your legacy is one that brings people closer to God. Verse three says, “Mordecai was second only to the king and great among the Jews and in favor with his many fellow people, for he worked for the good of his people and spoke for the welfare and peace of his whole nation.” When we keep our eyes on Jesus and live out His Word in our life, we demonstrate the fruit of His Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness & Self Control. When these things are evident in your life, others will see that and be drawn to you, and God will advance you as you keep pointing everyone toward Him!
Family Time:
- Apart from God, whose name is not mentioned in Esther chapter 10 (even though the chapter is named after her)? Who is this chapter mostly about?
- What does verse 3 say Mordecai was seeking?
- While God’s name is not specifically mentioned in the book of Esther, it is a book written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is important because it records how God protected His people by using willing, godly people to influence ungodly people. Just as Esther was dependent upon the counsel (advice) of Mordecai, we too (The Bride) are dependent upon the Holy Spirit to direct our lives. Have you sought the Holy Spirit for direction? Are you obedient when the Holy Spirit prompts you to do something? When you do, do you take the credit or get out of the way and let God get the glory?
