Read Nehemiah 10
Think About It:
- With the walls of Jerusalem completed, the people promise their loyalty to the covenant God made with His people during the time of Moses. The promise was sealed by the named leader, Levites and priests. How do you “seal” a promise to God?
- The people also made other promises to God. Name some of them. What promises have you made not to neglect the “temple” of God?
Family Time:
- Nehemiah 10:29 talks about the penalties for failure to comply with the covenant. Do you have penalties when you don’t comply with your parents’ rules?
- The Israelites swore that they would observe the laws of God. Give an example of how you observe God’s laws?
- Nehemiah 10:31 deals with observing the Sabbath. What does this mean? How can you observe the Sabbath?
