Read Nehemiah 8

Think About It:

1. The Spirit of God was moving among the people. He drew them together and gave them a hunger for the Word of God. Do you cooperate with the work of God’s Spirit so the Word of God can do its full work in you?
2. In verse 6 the people responded to the reading of the Word of God with thanksgiving and praise. How do you keep that feeling alive in your heart?
3. Understanding of the Word of God is of utmost importance. What do you do when you do not understand scripture?

Family Time:

1. The people wept and cried. Why do you think they would cry when they heard the law read to them? Was it really boring? Was it a sad story?
2. Have you ever felt bad about disobeying someone? What did you do about it?
3. What does this story teach us about God?
