Read Nehemiah 8
Think About It:
- The Spirit of God was moving among the people. He drew them together and gave them a hunger for the Word of God. Do you cooperate with the work of God’s Spirit so the Word of God can do its full work in you?
- In verse 6 the people responded to the reading of the Word of God with thanksgiving and praise. How do you keep that feeling alive in your heart?
- Understanding of the Word of God is of utmost importance. What do you do when you do not understand scripture?
Family Time:
- The people wept and cried. Why do you think they would cry when they heard the law read to them? Was it really boring? Was it a sad story?
- Have you ever felt bad about disobeying someone? What did you do about it?
- What does this story teach us about God?
