Read 2 Chronicles 12
Think About It:
There had been a good amount of friendly correspondence with Egypt. They had no reason to expect a war with them.
The cities of Judah that Rehoboam had really fortified so they would be safe, were taken immediately.
- What is some reasons Rehoboam may have forsaken the LORD?
- What caused the LORD to turn his wrath away from Rehoboam in verse 6 and 12?
- Had everything gone back to ‘perfect’ when they humbled themselves?
Family Time:
- In verse one, after Rehoboam had established his kingdom and strengthened himself, what happens in Rehoboam’s life? …and in all of Israel?
- God brought discipline into the life of Rehoboam and Israel. How did they respond? (verse 6)
- Even though they still had some consequences for their wrong, what did God do for them because of their humility? (verses 7 & 12)
