Read 2 Chronicles 7
Think About It:
- In verse 14, the great promise of answered prayer also included the condition of repentance. As the people of God humblethemselves, pray and seek the face of God, they must also turn from their wicked ways. It wasn’t enough to merely turn their heart to God; they must also turn their life to God. How is this promise still applicable today?
- What did the LORD mean when He said He would “heal their land”?
Family Time:
- The LORD heard Solomon’s prayer, and this was His answer—read verses 14-16. What are the three things God tells His people to do before He will respond?
- If they do these things, what did God promise HE would do?
- God draws close to those who are humble, and who are willing to admit their wrongs and weaknesses, and those who admit their need for Him. Are you humble towards God, or do you act in pride? 1 Peter 5:5, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
