Read 1 Kings 20
Think About It:
- Ahab asks God who will begin the battle in verse 14. God replies that it will be Ahab. Have you ever expected God to send someone else to do something that He wanted you to do? How did you respond to this? Can you think of others in the Bible who also want someone else to do what God is asking them to do?
- Why do you think that the Syrians had misconceptions about who God is, thinking he is a god of the hills, but not of the valleys? What does this say about how Ahab and Israel were living?
Family Time:
- Who threatened to take Ahab’s wives, children, silver and gold? (verses 1-4)
- Why did the LORD give Ahab victory over Ben-Hadad? (verses 13, 28)
- For what did the prophet condemn Ahab? (verses 34, 42)
