Read 1 Samuel 9
Think About It:
- Saul was the first king in Israel. He looked the part: tall and most handsome, in the prime of life and wealthy. Are we deceived by looks?
- Lost donkeys and several people: the servant with the piece of silver and the young maidens, were used by God to get Saul to Samuel. Does it ever feel like you’re looking for lost donkeys? Don’t lose heart; God may be taking you to your Samuel. Do you think events just happen to you? Saul’s story should help you to see how God guides us by them. Good and bad events affect us. God may be using them to build a quality in you or lead you to serve Him in a new area.
- What did the Lord tell Samuel before Saul came to Him? How did Saul show some humility when Samuel told him he was chose to be king? (verse 21)
